Following the 110th Annual General Meeting held on 17 September in London, Alexandra Chin FCCA has been elected as the new President of ACCA.
Holding the prestigious honorary title of ‘Datuk’ in Malaysia, she is the first Malaysian to be elected to the role and the fourth female President of ACCA.
Having served in the public practice sector since 1981 with her own practice in Sabah, Malaysia, she qualified as an ACCA member in 1986 and has been a member of ACCA’s Council since 2005.
Prior to this, she was a member of the ACCA’s International Assembly where she represented Malaysia from 2003 to 2005. She was also President of ACCA Sabah from 1999 to 2005.
Top on her to-do list for her Presidential year is to inspire younger people in the way ACCA has inspired her and to champion access to education for people around the world.
Brian McEnery, a partner in BDO Ireland and a specialist in corporate restructuring and healthcare consulting, has been elected as ACCA’s new Deputy President , while Leo Lee, a former director of Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), has become ACCA’s global Vice President.
