We are very pleased to share that ACCA has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Singapore Accountancy Commission (SAC) in January, and this will see both organisations collaborate in thought leadership projects around business model innovations and integrated reporting. At the same time, we will also jointly look into areas of collaboration around professional development, the SkillsFuture framework; SMP transformation and regionalisation. With this MOU, ACCA will be able to lend our expertise in helping SAC to chart the growth of Singapore into an global accountancy hub.
One of the first projects under this MOU was a report on the AE (Accounting Entities) Regionalisation Survey.
It was jointly developed by SAC and ACCA and supported by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore. (IE Singapore is the government agency that promotes international trade and partners Singapore companies going global).
The survey provided insights to better understand the strategies that AEs used, as well as the concerns of AEs venturing overseas.
The survey report also provided key recommendations aligned with those of the Singapore Government’s Committee on the Future Economy (CFE), in particular strategies that seek to deepen international connections, strengthen enterprise capabilities and enhance partnerships to enable innovation and business growth.

With the launch of the report, we are certain 2017 will be an exciting year with much more on the research end to look forward too. So, stay tuned to our blog for more updates.
