After 17 years at our Orchard premises, ACCA Singapore moved into its new home today. For someone who’s been with the organisation almost as long (I have been with ACCA for 13 years), it’s a landmark occasion.
I joined as a fresh graduate – a baby – as one of my member friends exclaimed last week, and have pretty much grown up here.
It’s been a very good 13 years indeed with so much opportunity for development and so many amazing people.
When I joined, the team was a mere 7 or 8 strong; we’re now a robust 27. People have come and people have gone, but ACCA continues to live its values – particularly that of opportunity and innovation.
I truly believe that we remain committed to developing the profession and manifest that through the numerous partnerships we’ve built over the years and the inspiring members I’ve met in the same time.
There is a sense of nostalgia as I look back on my years in this office, but there is a bubbling excitement as we move to our new home at One Raffles Quay as well. It was fun being in the middle of the shopping district but I’m really looking forward being closer to our members and partners who work in the district and even the same building!
We’ve evolved from a national office to an international one, outgrowing our current space (as you can imagine) to house three separate teams – Singapore, Asia Pacific and the Emerging Markets that looks after markets such as Korea, Myanmar, Indonesia, the Philippines just to name a few!
It’s exciting times, and we can’t wait to share more of these changes with you.
