Pick up any business magazine and there is likely to be an article about the implications of millennials in the workplace – their likes, dislikes, work habits and aspirations. But are the youngest generation at work today innately different from those in whose footsteps they are following? Are their career aspirations and work preferences truly at odds from generations before?
With our millennials in mind, we lined up a whole list of activities at this year’s career fair, attracting over 500 students, members. Here are some of the highlights!
Our first speaker Mr Chiew Chun Wee, ACCA Head of Policy, AP kickstarted this year’s career fair with the research, Generation Next (Gen Next). He shared the career goals and ambitions of the Gen Next and the implications they have for the profession on a number of dimensions. Followed by a very informative panel discussion on ‘What does the future looks like for me?’ chaired by our Gen Next leader Wong Jing Feng, an Audit Senior in Assurance at Ernst & Young.
Students affiliates and members got to meet our ACCA Approved Employers, including new ones such as Assurance and Mediacorp, reflecting the diversified opportunities available in the finance and accountancy sector.
CV consultation & Mock interviews
Over 100 participants participated in the CV consultations by our senior members and mock interviews conducted by some of our employers.
Start-up showcase & Local talent showcase
We also had young local artiest show off their vocals.
If you have missed out on the action, the good news is that we are bringing this exchange onto the virtual platform.
